Job description

About Humiley

Humiley delivers Project Management Consultancy (PMC) and turnkey solutions for Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences industries, helping launch GMP -  compliant facilities on time and audit-ready.

The role

Provide on-site PMC oversight of all electrical packages — from utility intake and MV/LV distribution to lighting, small power, earthing, UPS and standby generation — ensuring that power systems serving the GMP plant are installed safely, reliably and in full compliance with the IEC suite, local regulations and the project specifications.

Position Snapshot

Job Title: Electrical Engineer – PMC

Department: Project Management Consultancy – PMC

Reports To: PMC Project Manager/Lead MEP Engineer

Location: Houston, US

Type: Full-time, Site-based

Grade: Engineer / Senior Engineer

Headcount: 01 (open until filled)

Key Responsibilities

  • Review electrical design deliverables — single-line diagrams, load schedules, short-circuit and protection coordination studies, cable schedules and lighting calculations.
  • Supervise the installation of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, MCC, distribution boards, busways, cable trays, lighting and small-power systems.
  • Witness Factory & Site Acceptance Tests for switchgear, transformers, UPS, ATS and DG sets; verify test reports against IEC 61439, 60076, 62040 and 60947.
  • Verify earthing, equipotential bonding and lightning protection in accordance with IEC 62305 and TCVN; sign off on continuity, insulation and earth-loop test records.
  • Coordinate interfaces with HVAC, Automation, ELC, Process Utilities and Civil packages, resolving design clashes and managing the cable-route master plan.
  • Monitor contractor progress and quality, issue daily reports, NCRs and punch-list items; drive timely closure and escalate risks to the PMC Project Manager.
  • Support energization, hot-commissioning and the C&Q lifecycle, including IQ/OQ for electrical systems serving GMP areas.
  • Champion electrical safety, LOTO (Lock-Out/Tag-Out), arc-flash assessment (IEEE 1584), live-line work permits and energy efficiency throughout construction and energization.
  • Verify power-quality, harmonic profile (THDi/THDv), power-factor correction and load balancing using on-site analyzers; coordinate with BMS for energy-KPI dashboards.
  • Interface daily with Civil (cable trench / earth grid), HVAC (motor starters / VFD), Automation (BMS / SCADA), ELC (life-safety integration) and Process Utility teams.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical / Power Systems / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of site experience on industrial or pharmaceutical projects with proven exposure to MV (≥ 22 kV) and LV (400 V) distribution.
  • Hands-on knowledge of IEC 60364, IEC 61439, IEC 62305, IEEE 519, NFPA 70 (NEC) and TCVN 7447/QCVN 12 electrical codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, ETAP / DIgSILENT / EasyPower, DIALux / Relux and MS Project / Primavera P6.
  • Vietnam Class-3 Electrical Practitioner Licence (or equivalent international certification — IET, IEEE PE) is preferred.

Competencies

  • Technical: MV/LV distribution architecture, protection grading (Time-Current Curves) and selectivity studies. Earthing (TT/TN-S/IT), EMC and lightning protection design (IEC 62305 Levels I–IV). UPS (online double-conversion), ATS, diesel generators with synchronization, harmonic mitigation and active filtering. GMP electrical zoning (clean / dirty utilities), uninterruptible critical-load supply, BMS interface and CSV-ready validation. Industrial lighting design (lux levels 200–1000), DALI control, emergency & exit-sign systems compliant to QCVN 06 and NFPA 101.
  • Behavioral: Disciplined, safety-first mindset. Analytical and decisive in resolving site issues. Strong stakeholder communication in EN/VN. Continuous-improvement orientation.
